Glasgow's 2023 football season came to end on Scottie Field Oct. 28 with a 27-18 loss to the Jefferson Panthers in the first round of the playoffs. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Havre hunter check station was active over the weekend of general deer and elk opener (Oct. 21-22), with the number of hunters checked the highest in recent history. The youth deer season also coincided with the general season opener, which tends to increase hunter participation, and the weather was warm and dry. Hi-Line Sportsmen is again offering their Hunter Mentoring program this year. The impetus behind the program stemmed from Andrew McKean's work on the national R3 campaign (Hunter Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation) and a 2016 survey of hunter participation showing a drop of 2.2 million hunters in the country. Hinsdale’s cross country runners closed out their 2023 season the State Championships in Kalispell Oct. 21. Zora Holt placed 12th out of 73 competitors in the girls Class C race. Oct. 10 at Harlem This match was a good rematch chance against a team that has grown a lot this season. This is also one of the few teams we play twice in our regular season; In fact, I believe they are the only team we see twice. We had a few hiccups in our serving with 11 errors in three sets.
