The much anticipated game between Glasgow and Malta has come and gone. The Lady Scotties demonstrated outstanding defense, but were unable to deny the offensive quartet of Hailey Nicholson, Sophia Stiles, Marley Manoukian, and Jada Nicholson. The Scottie wrestlers traveled to Miles City this past weekend to participate in the 58th Annual Cowboy Invitational wrestling tournament. Fans of the Glasgow Scotties and the Nashua Porcupines filed into Scottie Gymnasium Friday night for a few non-conference games. Over the last two weekends, the Glasgow Bantam Ice Dawgs were challenged by formidable opponents in four home games. The Lustre Christian Lions traveled to Poplar to face the Indians for their first game of the new year on Tuesday, Jan. 5. The Lady Lions took to the court in the first game of the night, and if not for the slow start in the first quarter of the game, the contest may have had a different outcome. Tessa Duncan was the 8/9 year old winner of the Elk's Hoop Shoot for Wallowa County in Oregon this year. Tessa is the 8-year old daughter of Rob and Tamarah Duncan of Wallowa, Ore. Tamarah was an OHS graduate in 1996 and also was an outstanding Viking basketball player so Tessa, who resembles her mother, comes by it naturally. The high school Ice Dawgs hosted the Flathead Flames Friday, Dec. 18 and Saturday, Dec. 19. From the looks of the official scoresheets, a hockey game broke out during the fight. By the end of two games, Glasgow left the ice with 19 total penalties, 63 penalty minutes served, and two skaters ejected from the game.
