The Highlanders closed out the 2024 “Regular Season” this weekend at the Annual Brodie Gorder Memorial Iron Eagle Team Duals and Individual Tournament in Sidney. The Glasgow Ice Dawgs went 4-0-1 in the Big Sky High School League State Tournament in Billings, topping off the weekend with a huge 5-4 overtime championship win over the Miles City Generals to fetch home their second state title in three years. Glasgow started the tournament in pool play with two wins and a tie. The Dawgs defeated Helena 5-0 Thursday and downed Billings 9-1 Friday morning. The Lustre Christian boys basketball team hoisted their second Eastern C Divisional trophy in as many years Friday night as the Lions claimed a 56-47 victory over the Plentywood Wildcats in the title game. Lustre opened the tournament Feb. 28 in Glasgow with a dominant 64-28 win over the Savage Warriors. The Glasgow Wrestling Club once again enjoyed an action-packed weekend with plenty of success! 43 Highlanders headed 70 miles east to participate in the Poplar Invitational on Saturday, while 24 wrestlers made the long westward trek to Butte to participate in the prestigous "Cyclops" event on Saturday and Sunday.
