The Lady Scotties were in Wolf Point Sept. 29 to take on a determined squad on the night of their school's homecoming. It turned out to be a tough night for them as the Lady Wolves took care of things in three straight games: 19-25, 17-25, 24-26. Passing woes, which almost inevitably lead to a less-effective offense, plagued GHS for much of the game and overpasses to a very tall and athletic team was an immediate problem. But, credit also goes to Wolf Point. They blocked and hit very... Full story

GHS played a ton of volleyball this past week, all of it against outstanding teams in all classes. On Sept. 19, they traveled to Sidney for a match with the Eagles, a team they have traditionally struggled to beat. Showing true grit, the Scotties emerged victorious, thanks in large part to a remarkable display of serving by senior Ashtyn Myrick in game three. The fury of that attack fueled more aggressive serving, particularly from Kennedy Schmidt and Rachelle Glaser. Those three girls... Full story

Following two fairly intense competitions held in Williston and Billings, the Scottie cross country team was in Malta for a more low-key race on Sept. 9. The course, which was held at the golf course, consisted mostly of moderate rolling hills with stretches of even path for the runners to navigate. Likely the most difficult part of the course for the competitors was the slight incline just before the finish line. The varsity boys easily defeated their competition, scoring 34 points to win the... Full story

The Scottie volleyball team played their hearts out and it showed as they took control of the Chinook Invitational held Sept. 1-2. Pool play on Friday kept the girls busy and overall the day was successful. Playing just a single game to 30 didn't allow room for much error, but overall the Scotties played hard and eventually ended the day 3-1 (Glasgow def. Chinook 30-24; Glasgow def. Cut Bank 30-19; Glasgow def. Highwood-Geraldine 30-17; Simms def. Glasgow 30-20). Saturday offered more traditiona... Full story

The Scotties suffered a huge 54-0 loss in a recent pickup game against Whitehall. The game, which was held at Naranche Stadium in Butte on Sept. 1, was scheduled following the demise of Poplar's football program for the season. Glasgow's head coach, Greg Liebelt said of the disappointing loss, "We looked and played like a younger, inexperienced team - with seven new starters - playing our first game against a veteran semifinal team from last season with eight returning starters, without a doubt."
