  • Glasgow Grapplers Have Great Showing in Great Falls

    After a stop in Ft. Benton as a warm-up, the Scottie grapplers spent Dec. 16 and 17 in Great Falls at the CMR Holiday Classic Wrestling Tournament. The tournament draws teams from all over Montana and this year was set to host 36 teams, although some were unable to make the trip due to weather conditions. Glasgow placed seventh out of 34 teams.     The 21st annual Scottie Wrestling Invitational was held Dec. 10 at GHS. Glasgow hosted 19 other teams for the event, and with four wrestling mats being utilized throughout the day, Scottie Gymnasium was buzzing with activity. With hundreds of competitors at the event, there was a continual rotation of matches taking place at all times. It was organized chaos.   • R6 Havre-Area Check Station Results for 2016 Season

    The final results are in at Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Havre check station for the 2016 hunting season. The check station was open from Oct. 8 (the open of general antelope) through Nov. 27 (the end of the deer/elk general season). Overall, both hunter numbers and big-game harvest increased from last year, with mule deer numbers being the highest in several years.   • Crosby Bests 14U and 19U Girls

    The 14U and 19U Lady Ice Dawgs traveled to Crosby for games on Dec. 3. The 14U girls put forth a great effort against a tough team. Despite some scoring chances, the girls were unable to hit the back of the net during the game and lost to the Comets 4-0. It was a competitive game, with the score just 1-0 after the first two periods.     The Sidney Invitational wrestling meet held Dec. 2 and 3 was a tough one, with 26 teams from Montana and surrounding states competing in the event.     GHS senior Benji Phillips has signed a letter of intent to compete as a javelin thrower for the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Bison.
