    The Lustre Lions hosted the North Country Mavericks on Jan. 17 where both the girls’ and boys’ team tried to claim a home victory. The boys clinched the win 53 to 43 however the girls fell short with a final score of 52-14. On the girls’ side, the Lions could not overcome the Mavericks’ pressure defense or close the early lead gap.     The Glasgow Scotties boys and girls basketball teams faced two tough match ups last week. The first on Jan. 10 in Harlem pitted the Scotties against the Wildcats and then in Glasgow on Jan. 11 the Scotties took on the Scobey Spartans. The Scottie girls fell to the Wildcats by a margin of 17 finishing off the Friday night game with a score of 43 to Harlem's 60.     The Lustre Lions have seen plenty of court action the past few weeks, traveling to Bainville on Jan. 3 and hosting the Scobey Spartans on Jan. 7 as well as the Frazer Bearcubs on Jan. 11. In the game against Bainville, the boys kept the point spread close, losing only by six with a final score of 44-50.     The Glasgow Scottie wrestlers braved weather and distance to take on 31 different schools at the Tom LeProwse Bozeman Invitational on Jan. 3 and 4 for the first set of bouts in the newly minted 2020 year. When it was all said and done, Glasgow had amassed enough points - 94 in all - to finish in the top half of schools at 12th place.     The Glasgow Ice Dawgs High School girls team traveled to Kalispell over the Christmas break to compete in the 19U Girls Winter Classic tournament. Glasgow went up against some tough teams from Bozeman, Missoula and Flathead in their four games of play, walking away from the tournament with one tie and three losses.     Basketball teams from around the region converged on Glasgow Dec. 6 and 7 for the Class C Showcase to kick off the 2019-20 basketball season.
