Hockey season in Glasgow officially came to a close this past weekend as the 14U girls and the Bantam boys competed in their final state tournaments March 9-11. The 14U girls traveled to Williston to compete in the NDAHA 14U tournament. The first weekend in March brought the hockey season to an end for three of the Ice Dawg teams. Glasgow High School's Kennedy Schmidt signed a letter of intent on Feb. 28 to play hockey for the Minot State University (MSU) Beavers. According to officials at MSU, while Schmidt is the fourth recruit to commit to playing for the Beavers, she is the first American to join the team for the 2018-2019 season. The Glasgow Scotties closed out their 2017-2018 season with one win out of three games at the divisional tournament held in Glasgow Feb. 22-24. The Glasgow Highlanders had another dominating performance over the weekend. The youngsters crowned 16 champions and 31 top-three finishers overall at the Sidney Invitational held Feb. 24. The Scottie wrestlers wrapped up their 2017-2018 season with a super showing at the state tournament in Billings Feb. 9 and 10. Following a few "rebuilding" years, Glasgow entered this year's tournament with 12 state qualifiers and finished with six of those wrestlers earning individual places.
