    The Hinsdale Raiders started the 2024 track season at the Cal Wearly Memorial in Havre April 10 and the Scobey Invitational April 13. Hinsdale was unable to put up points at the crowded Cal Wearly, but in Scobey the girls scored 37 points for sixth place while the boys put up 14 for 10th place. Cal Wearly Memorial GIRLS Layna Jones ran a 17.15 in the 100 meters to take 48th out of 51 runners. She jumped 10-08.25 in the long jump to take 32nd place out of 32 competitors.     The Lustre Christian track teams kicked off the 2024 season at the Scobey Invite April 13. The boys team won the meet with 106 team points. BOYS Terran Joseph won the 100 and 200 meters with times of 11.98 and 24.20. Joseph Lee placed 42nd, out of 52, in the 100 meters with a time of 14.51 followed directly by Mason Hilkemann in 43rd at 14.68. Jacob Rigby ran a 15.67 for 46th place.     The Nashua track teams started their season April 13 at the Northeast Invitational in Scobey. The girls placed eighth with 24 team points while the boys earned 22 team points for ninth place. GIRLS Katey Dykstra led the Porcupines in the 100 meters, taking sixth place out of 41 runners with a time of 14.15. Maria Grimes ran a 17.84 for 40th place.     Both the Glasgow boys and girls track and field teams took third place at the Fergus Invite in Lewistown April 4 in their season start. The Scottie boys scored 43.5 points to place behind Laurel, 116, and Havre, 58 points. The Glasgow girls put up 63.33 points, finishing behind Havre, 124, and Laurel, 89.     The Scottie softball team earned their first win of the season April 2, downing Glendive 14-7 on the road. Glasgow dropped two road games April 5 at the Shepherd Triangle, falling 23-0 to Shepherd and 27-17 to Conrad. In Glendive, Macy Martin was first to cross home plate in the game, scoring on a Tatum Nyquist fielder’s choice.     The Scottie softball team dropped their two opening games March 29 at the Colstrip Quad. Glasgow fell 16-8 to Stillwater in their opening game before dropping a 12-0 game to Huntley Project. The Scotties held tight with Stillwater through three innings before the eventual victors pulled away with a six-run showing in the bottom of the fourth.     The most prestigious tournament in our home state is the Montana Open at the Billings Metra! GWC brought the 6th largest team to the event this year with 55 wrestlers.
