Glasgow native Ethan Shrader has returned to the Bonnie City for the summer to take on the head coach role for the Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team. Dozens of kids and their support teams gathered at Home Run Pond at Sullivan Park on June 6 to cast their chances at taking home the biggest fish in the Walleyes Unlimited Kids' Fishing Tournament. The 10U softball team had a busy weekend this past weekend both on home and away fields. Their first series of the weekend saw match-ups against Lewistown and Havre in Sidney on June 6, where the girls succumbed to Lewistown 15 to one, however was able to come back to secure a victory against Havre, 17 to 11. The Glasgow Reds are in action this summer starting the season with a number of home games throughout the next few weeks. Their first games of the season will get underway with a doubleheader on Saturday, June 13, at Bob Connors field in Sullivan Park against the Laurel Dodgers. Montana watercraft inspection stations have intercepted 13 boats carrying invasive mollusks into the state this year. As of May 30, inspectors have caught 12 boats with invasive zebra or quagga mussels and one boat with red rim melania snails attached to watercraft. The mussel-fouled boats typically come from mid-west states or Arizona after having spent several weeks or months in mussel-infested waters.
