The Glasgow Ice Dawgs bantam team took a couple of hard losses Dec. 5 at the Valley Event Center, dropping both games to the Miles City Generals. The visiting team took 6-3 and 6-5 win margins on the Dawgs’ home ice. Glasgow took an early lead in their first game at noon on Saturday. The Glasgow Ice Dawg Squirts hosted the Miles City Generals at the Valley Event Center Dec. 5 and 6. The young home team dropped three games against the visitors, but worked to improve their skills. In this case, rather than bruises (though there were probably a fair amount of those also) the colors were for the jerseys worn by the four different lines who were on the ice Nov. 24 for a scrimmage. Gwendolyne Honrud the courier Dylan Nieskens announced on Nov. 24 that he would be continuing his academic and football career at Carroll College in Helena, Mont., following his graduation from Glasgow this upcoming spring. Glasgow star running back Jesse Lee announced via Facebook on Nov. 18 that he has committed to playing football for MSU Northern next season. Lee was a force for the Scotties, driving their ground game down the field weekend after weekend this season, often carrying opponents' defensive players along with him. Opening their 2020-21 season in Sidney, the team brought home one win and three losses playing with a short bench. The win came in the Dawgs’ first game against Miles City. The Helena Big Horns took all three games from the hosts, however the coaches expressed tremendous pride in their young team, noting that some players had only been on the ice a few times before their first game. The Glasgow Ice Dawgs PeeWee team started their season in Great Falls Nov. 7 and 8. After only three practices, the Dawgs dropped their first game on Nov. 7 against the Great Falls Americans 6-3. The team traveled to Manhattan this past weekend to take on the Tigers in the semi final game to determine who would move on to the final game of the season.
