  • Glasgow Girls Stumble in Opener

    Gwendolyne Honrud, The Courier|Dec 8, 2021

The Glasgow Scottie girls team stumbled in their opening match-up. Glasgow held a one-point advantage at the half, but Wolf Point came out strong in the third and fourth quarters to take the 52-48 victory on their home court. Glasgow scored 12 points in the first quarter, compared to Wolf Point’s 5, and 12 more in the second quarter. However, the home team rallied with 18 points to bring them within one at intermission. Fouls cost the home team as they sent Glasgow to the charity stripe 21 times in the first half with the Scotties converting on...

  • 19U Ice Dawgs 2-0 in Home Opener

    Gwendolyne Honrud, The Courier|Dec 8, 2021

The Glasgow 19U Ice Dawgs team took the 19 and under age rule and ran with it again this season, suiting up a number of players who fall well below high school age. But the age difference did not factor into the girls' first two games this season as they defeated Butte Copper Kings at the Valley Event Center. Glasgow won 3-2 Saturday evening and 5-2 Sunday morning. Glasgow took a 3-0 lead after the first period of play Saturday, with all three captains finding the back of the net. Captain Tatum...

  • Putting Some 'Pep' in the Scotties' Step

    Gwendolyne Honrud, The Courier|Dec 1, 2021

There is something about the music of a high school pep band that hits different. Glasgow is lucky to be home to one of the top pep bands around. Under the direction of GHS alumni Todd Truscott, the Scottie pep band brings a little something extra to every home sporting event they can – whether in the gym for basketball and volleyball, or out in the Scottie Field bleachers for football. "When you that school song roaring across whatever gym or football field or anything, it's very i...

  • Graham Takes Over

    Gwendolyne Honrud, The Courier|Dec 1, 2021

When the Glasgow Scottie girls team hits the court this season, fans will see a "new" face directing the team. Cami Graham has stepped into the head coach role. Graham, in the vein of successful coaches everywhere, sees her job as encompassing more than just the sport she coaches. She said, "We hope to create a positive, competitive environment for the kids to excel on and off the court." Graham takes over after five years as an assistant coach under former Scottie coach Travis Nielsen. She...
