The North Country Mavericks played several volleyball matches last week but were unable to add to their win column. The team made the trip to Glasgow on Sept. 30 where they lost to the Scotties 25-21, 25-12, 24-26, 25-22. "We are getting better with each week and in this match came away with a loss. We gained some valuable experience playing in front of a rowdy crowd and also are finding our syncs within our team," said Mavericks coach Charlene Wasson. The Lustre Christian Lions volleyball team earned a win when the team hit the court on Tuesday against the Frazer Bearcubs on Tuesday of last week. Lustre won the match against Frazer in three sets 25-21, 25-13, 25-10. Alexa Redding led the Lions in kills with six. Grace Brown added four kills and Aubri Holzrichter contributed three. The Frazer Bearcubs girls cross country team brought home an eighth-place finish from the Fairview XC Invitational held at Sundheim Park in Cartwright, N.D., on Oct. 2.
