    Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 6 game wardens are seeking any information regarding a mule deer buck that was shot and left to waste about 15 miles southwest of Opheim, on the junction of Kerr Road and Golden Valley Road in Valley County. On July 12, the Glasgow FWP office received a call concerning a dead deer observed near the road.     The Opheim High School Class of 1978 funded a new "Welcome to Opheim, Home of the Vikings" sign. During the 2022 Opheim Reunion, the sign that stands at the south end of Opheim, was officially dedicated in memory of classmates Debbie Delay Anderson, Lori Dahl Pyle, Darlene Fauth Boothe and Laura Pehan Borges.     Update: The National Weather Service in Glasgow confirmed an EF-2 tornado hit Glentana. A tornado-warned storm went through Glentana July 18. The small community experienced extensive damage with initial estimates to be in the millions of dollars. No injuries or deaths occurred. The highest recorded wind gust known was 109 mph.     An EF-2 tornado directly hit the small community of Glentana July 18 causing extensive damage to property but, to the relief of residents, community members emerged unscathed. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Glasgow, the tornado touched down 5.5 miles southwest of Glentana at 5:47 p.m. and moved to the northeast ending at 5:56 p.m. The average path width was 457 yards and then traveled 8 miles.     At approximately 10:45 in the morning, on Saturday, July 23, a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of US Highway 2 and MT Highway 117, near the town of Nashua. Nine individuals were involved, two adults in one vehicle traveling east, on US Highway 2 and one adult with six children, of varying ages, were in the vehicle entering the intersection from MT Highway 117.     In 2022 we had a total of 82 kids with a total of 103 fish caught. Each participant received a free t-shirt provided by the sponsors. Prizes were awarded to the top placers and those who did not place had a variety of free gifts to choose from.     Last week Katie Knierim and Kevin Miller donated $25,000 to the Valley County Community Pool Campaign making the total raised $2,518,028, just over the $2.5 million mark, of the $3,304,000 goal needed to build a new pool in Glasgow. The Miller children, Jack and Molly, are both part of the Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team Thunder, and Knierim swam in swim team as a kid, so seeing the campaign so close to their goal and seeing a new pool in Glasgow within sights is important to them as a family. Service will still be available Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. until 5 p.m. within Glasgow.
