Milk River Days held their annual celebration July 2 through 4 in Hinsdale with the celebration kicking off on with the Kayak Poker Run in Hinsdale Park, following by the rodeo and street dance on the 3rd. The July 4th holiday saw crowds brave the cool fall-like weather with the Milk River Days Parade, ping pong ball drop, BBQ served by the Hinsdale Community, the Ambulance Fund Pie Auction, Horseshoe Tournament with kids games and the water slide available for many more memories of the day....

On July 6, at 8:40 a.m., the Valley County Sheriff’s Office responded to the cabin area of Fort Peck Lake for an unresponsive two-year old, later identified as Cullen Meland, found in the water. Meland, son of Braden and Bethany Meland, of Billings, was staying with relatives in the area when the accident occurred. The Office of the Sheriff/Coroner will conduct a cause and manner of death investigation, which as of press time was still ongoing. The Hinsdale Volunteer Ambulance Service held its annual pie auction fundraiser following the July 4 barbecue in the Hinsdale Legion Park. About 30 pies and other baked goods were donated by community members along with a patriotic quilt. Auctioneer Brian Austin called the auction. On July 5, the Valley County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Eastern Montana Drug Task Force, executed two separate search warrants on two houses in Glasgow. The search warrants resulted in the arrest of two individuals for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drugs with intent to distribute. On Tuesday, June 20, at 8:20 p.m., a caller reported a single vehicle rollover accident on Montana Highway 24S just east of the Duck Creek Road and the Gateway restaurant.
