Cheryl, Lois and Stephen Grobel hosted a Scholarship Dinner April 16 at the Cottonwood Inn & Suites. Approximately 60 people were in attendance, including current and former scholarship recipients, Mayor Becky Erickson and members of the community. Mary Strand appeared in District Court before Judge John McKeon to enter guilty pleas for five separate felony counts, including four counts of theft of property by embezzlement and one count of money laundering. Strand was charged for the offenses when it was discovered she stole more than $80,000 from her employer, Fort Peck Fine Arts Council (FPFAC). The Glasgow Police Department has had recent complaints of drivers going too fast on 7th St. N. Residents in the area may have seen increased patrols lately. The Glasgow High School ceramics class was lucky enough to collaborate on an artistic project of a literary kind with Mrs. Klind's kindergarten class recently. Riverside Contracting has announced plans to close Highway 117 to through traffic from mile post 0.0 to mile post 11 (Milk River Bridge) beginning Monday, April 18, at 8 a.m. The closure is not expected to exceed four consecutive days. Valley County Sheriff’s office, during their continued drug investigation, has arrested yet another on meth charges. Rodney Carlton Harrell was arrested on criminal possession of dangerous drugs - methamphetamine - on April 1. KLTZ reported that Harrell has multiple drug offenses, as well as multi-state convictions, and a burglary charge in Valley County.
