    Glasgow’s City Council met July 18 for their bi-weekly council meeting. A first reading of Ordinance No. 952 included changes to clarify parts of the ordinance. The ordinance will be read a second time at the next city council meeting before it moves forward.   • Search for Owner of Submerged Vehicle Called Off

    The Valley County Sheriff's Office has concluded its search for the body of a Colorado man reported missing in mid-June. A truck owned by Robert J. Willenborg, 59, of Buena Vista, Colo., was discovered submerged in the Missouri River near Boy Scout Park by a local boater on June 12. No remains have been found, but Sheriff Meier told the Courier, "He's there, but we couldn't find him and we've suspended the search."     The Lustre community celebrated its 100-year anniversary on July 3, 2016 with a crowd of family and friends estimated over 700 people. “I know I had at least 85 people at my house for the weekend,” said Martin Fast, whose family was among the original 1916 homesteaders.     The staff of Planned Pethood Plus came a long way for a good cause. With less than half of their usual team of veterinarians and techs on hand, they performed an enormous number of spay/neuter surgeries during the recent clinic offered at the Valley Event Center. The clinic was held over two days, July 15 and 16, and was coordinated and ran wholly by volunteers.     After longtime Valley County Attorney Nick Murnion left his position to become Montana's 16th Judicial District Judge, the position has now been filled.     Glasgow Boy Scout Troop 861 spent the Independence Day Weekend serving food at both the John Hahn Memorial Softball Tournament and the dedication ceremony for the Northeast Montana Veteran's Memorial in Fort Peck.
