Valley County Sheriff’s office, during their continued drug investigation, has arrested yet another on meth charges. Rodney Carlton Harrell was arrested on criminal possession of dangerous drugs - methamphetamine - on April 1. KLTZ reported that Harrell has multiple drug offenses, as well as multi-state convictions, and a burglary charge in Valley County. Harrell joins Joseph Jones, Jessica Taylor and Patricia Doney, who were arrested on drug charges last week.... Full story

According to statistics from Montana’s Supreme Court, there were 42 new child abuse cases reported in Valley County in 2015. That is more new cases of child abuse than in 2013 and 2014 combined, and 55 percent more cases than 2012, the previous worst year on record. Two changes to the application requirements for the Feda Scholarship for the Trades become effective with this spring’s applications, Ken Oster announced this week. Mary Strand, her attorney Vernon Woodward, and Valley County Attorney Nick Murnion have reached a plea agreement in the embezzlement case involving the Fort Peck Fine Arts Council. The agreement will be heard by the Court at a date yet to be determined. Per the agreement, Strand will plead guilty to five felony charges, four for embezzlement and one for money laundering. In 2009, former Glasgow resident Dan Burns was found guilty – per plea agreement - of sexual abuse of children, a felony, and was ordered to pay $82,352.23 in restitution to his victim. Seven years later, even after the death of Burns while he was incarcerated for the crime, his victim is still waiting for compensation.
