The Glasgow Police Department is reporting that the suspect in a two-month string of burglaries throughout Glasgow has now been arrested in Roundup, Mont. The arrest occurred after the suspect committed a pair of automobile thefts. Sheriff Glen Meir told the Courier that Adam Jacob Kelly, 42, was arrested after he stole a vehicle while burglarizing a farm here in Valley County. Radiologist Dr. Louis Bailey is a relatively new addition to the staff at FMDH. Having extra training in all types of MRIs, he specializes mostly in neuroradiology and musculoskeletal radiology. Alley's Palace hosted an open competition Sept. 10 for local arm benders to try their might against each other. In all, the tournament attracted 16 contestants, consisting of four women and 12 men. This was my first time attending such an event. In a recent press release, Billings-based Health Management Services (HMS) announced that they would be reducing Malta’s Hi-Line Retirement Center (HLRC) from a nursing home to an assisted living center in coming months. HMS also manages Glasgow’s Valley View Home, which has also seen its fair share of recent budgeting woes, staffing concerns and questionable management under their watch. We were saddened to learn that Sam’s Supper Club, the storied eatery on Hwy 2 near Reynold’s, has closed its doors. Just before press time, members of Sam’s staff confirmed that they had been informed about the loss of their jobs over the weekend. A sign on the door of the establishment reads “Sam’s Supper Club is officially closed for business. The Valley County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind drivers using Hwy 117, between Nashua and Fort Peck, that they are required to follow posted instructions about pilot cars through areas currently under construction. A 41-year old Lakewood, Washington man, Justin Hanson, has been charged in Valley County with criminal possession of dangerous drugs, and is being held in the Valley County jail. The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) executed a traffic stop Sept. 5 on Highway 2 near Frazer for an illegal pass. The vehicle was a rental vehicle out of Washington state, and was driven by Hanson. Hinsdale Public Schools has a new superintendent this year: Ed Sugg. You probably know him as Coach Sugg from the Scotties' football team, or Mr. Sugg from the Glasgow Middle School. Beginning Aug. 25, and continuing through the weekend, the Glasgow Police Department began receiving several reports of theft and illegal trespass to private structures and several vehicles. At this time, the police department has identified numerous suspects involved. They have executed searches on both homes and vehicles of the suspects, which has led to evidence of the crimes committed. In a recent interview with the Courier, Brian Fuhrman sat down to discuss Valley View Home’s (VVH) future and recent difficulties. As president of the VVH board of directors, Fuhrman is hoping to alleviate concerns of the home’s recent woes and uncertain future through an upcoming board strategic planning meeting set in September. Valley County Attorney Dylan Jensen filed amended charges against 22-year-old Kain Mitchell Hirsch-Hall in district court on Monday, Aug. 15. Hirsch-Hall has been charged with one count of felony sexual assault and one count of felony sexual intercourse without consent. Initial charges against Hirsch-Hall included three separate counts of sexual crimes against two separate victims, both who were less than 12-years-old at the time of the alleged incidents.
