  • Block of Bucks Raises Over $30,000

    On Dec. 8, volunteers from Glasgow High School student council, National Guard, Soroptomists, as well as local community members stood at the intersections of D&G and the Post Office to collect funds for Block of Bucks. A total of $30,310 was collected by the generous community, which allowed 125 families with 325 children to shop for essential clothing the following day, Dec. 9.   • Railroad Overpass Under Construction in Nashua

    Former Nashua mayor Pat Hallett remembers the conversations involving the initial planning for an overpass near Nashua being centered on safety and time delays. By her account, the need for an alternative route over the railroad tracks was needed for multiple reasons, but mostly for emergency services.   • Nemont Manor Residents Awakened by Fire

    Early Saturday morning firefighters responded to an incident at Nemont Manor. The fire originated from a faulty furnace located in the basement. Although it was quickly extinguished, the smoke from the small blaze filled the building's basement and most of the lobby. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire but due to the smoke several residents were evacuated from the premises while the smoke cleared.
