As a number of residents at Nemont Manor looked out on their long-standing garden plot on the west side of the building, they started thinking about what a garden might look like. For the 36th year, the Valley County community has donated funds to the Valley County Combined Campaign in order to help raise funds for nonprofit organizations in the county. The author of the 2003 letter found on the last day of school by Shalynn Pedersen at Glasgow Middle School has come forward. In a race that came down to the final precinct reports, Judge Yvonne Laird beat out Glasgow Attorney Peter Helland in the primary for Montana District 17 Court Judge. Valley County Sheriff Vernon Buerkle told the Courier that as of Friday, June 15, Valley County Undersheriff Luke Strommen has been placed on Paid Administrative Leave pending the results of an investigation by Division of Criminal Investigation. Over the past few weeks, McDonald's in Glasgow has been a whirlwind of activity. The lobby area of the restaurant has been closed since May 14, while construction crews overhaul the inside and outside to make the dining experience more friendly and inviting. The Valley County Sheriff's Office reported that a live training mortar was delivered to their office last Friday, June 1. The round, which was discovered in a basement in St Marie, was then transported to a safe location north of Glasgow. New plaques were installed at the Northeast Montana Veterans Memorial in Fort Peck on May 22.
