    During the June 19 regular Valley County Commissioners meeting, the Commissioners unanimously passed to increase elected officials’ salaries and all permanent employee salaries by four percent.     The Department of the Interior has announced more than 1,900 state and local governments around the country will receive a total of $621.2 million in Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) funding for 2024. Valley County is expected to receive $984,349 of the total $43,301,694 secured in Payment In Lieu of Taxes (PILT) funds to support critical law enforcement, firefighting, and infrastructure priorities across Montana.
