Sheriff Tom Boyer announced via press release that Darryl Big Leggins, age 55, of Hays Montana died while in custody Feb. 10 at the Valley County Detention Center. Big Leggins was being held under contract for the Montana Department of Corrections. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has reversed a decision to required taxpayers to provide facial recognition data through a third party vendor to access some tax services. An anonymous donor has committed more than $100,000 to the Trust for Montana Libraries. The Trust will receive this funding in May of 2022. The donor has expressed that the funds are dedicated to building the capacity of the newly formed Trust. Founded in 2019, the Trust for Montana Libraries is a nonprofit organization that serves as the state’s library foundation.
