  • Montana State University Extension To Host Free Feral Swine Education Tour In Northeast Montana

    Montana State University Extension will host a feral swine education tour March 5-8 in northeast Montana, with seven stops held for landowners, farmers, ranchers and anyone else interested in attending. Registration is not required, and there is no cost to attend. Feral swine, also referred to as wild pigs, can cause significant landscape and agricultural damage, according to Jared Beaver, MSU Extension wildlife specialist.   • FWP Announces Changes To The Reservation Processes At State Parks

    Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will implement changes this year to the reservation process for state park sites. The changes will create more opportunities for recreationists to enjoy state parks and comply with legislation passed by the 2023 Legislature. Starting this year, visitors will have up to three months prior to their planned arrival date to make campsite and lodging reservations or purchase tour tickets.     Valley County HOPE Project will be launching their “Hearts Of Hope” Campaign on Valentine’s Day! This is based on the previous luminary idea, but with a new twist. Instead of selling luminary bags, we will be selling 8” wooden hearts. A heart can be purchased for $10 in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one.     The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is soliciting comments regarding the proposed implementation of a new waterline at the Fort Peck Fish Hatchery. USACE Omaha District has determined that the Fort Peck Fish Hatchery water intake pipeline modification would entail an alteration to the federal project, and therefore requires permission under Section 408.
