The annual Mental Health Awareness walk scheduled for May 4 was postponed but the CARE Mental Health Committee wants the community to know the new date is Tuesday, May 21, at 5:30 p.m. A committee person was asked if it was necessary to reschedule. The answer: one in five people is affected in some way by mental illness and that means that several hundred in Valley County are affected. The Montana Aging Services Bureau will be holding a Legal Document Clinic on Thursday, May 16, at the Valley County Senior Center, 328 4th Ave., Glasgow, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Legal professionals will assist participants in completing their estate planning documents at no cost. The Saco Shootist Society will be hosting their 25th annual Cowboy Shoot on Saturday, May 11, and Sunday, May 12, at the Saco Shootist Society Range, about one mile south on the Larb Creek Road. Customs and Border Protection has announced they will hold listening sessions in Montana about its efforts to reduce operations at the Morgan, Opheim, Raymond and Scobey ports of entry. Valley County Free Tree Day 2019 will be held on May 16 on the east lawn of the Valley County Courthouse, starting at 7:30 a.m. A total of 932 trees will be given away during this one day event, including 150 Prairie Sky Poplar (cottonless), 150 Common Lilac, 100 Golden Currant, 150 Chokecherry, 150 American Plum, 100 Caragana and 100 Buffaloberry. In effort to remove stigma attached to mental health problems, the Valley County Mental Health Committee is sponsoring a Mental Health Walk on Saturday, May 4. The event will start at 9:56 a.m. at the Valley Event Center with a couple of brief presentations, a walk to the Civic Center, opportunities to gather information, a drawing for a Yeti, some refreshments and then on the way home before 11. The second annual Glasgow Glow Run will be held on Wednesday, April 24, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Glasgow Middle School. The fee to participate is $15 if register before April 12 and $20 if register after April 12. The 5K fun run and 1 mile walk will begin and end at Glasgow Middle School.
