The Valley County Commissioners met during regular session on Aug. 30, where they took action on the Transit Boards recommendation for longevity pay. The Transit Board recommended a longevity pay of $10 per pay period for one to two years of service; $15 per pay period for two+ to five years of service; $25 per pay period for five+ to 10 years of service; and $40 per pay period for anyone with over 10 years of service. The Glasgow Schools held their regular monthly board meeting on Dec. 12, inside of the District Board Room. The most important topic discussed was the shortage of bus drivers the district is currently experiencing. “It’s a unique position. It fits a certain set of community members. You start in the morning, then you are done for the day, then you drive the bus in the afternoon. Having a presence within the community since 1958, the local Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) group has changed its name to Caring Hands, Inc. However, no changes will be made in how the group gives back to the community nor will the operation of the Glasgow Caring Hands thrift store see any changes.
