Early Saturday morning firefighters responded to an incident at Nemont Manor. The fire originated from a faulty furnace located in the basement. Although it was quickly extinguished, the smoke from the small blaze filled the building's basement and most of the lobby. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire but due to the smoke several residents were evacuated from the premises while the smoke cleared. Valley County Commissioners had an eventful discussion and decision meeting on June 21. During the meeting, they approved a couple of bids and the appointment of individuals to various county boards. The first bid the commissioners approved was a bid by Perfect 10 Roofing to rebuild the roof on the Courthouse. In January of 2015, the City of Glasgow contracted with Land Solutions, LLC to prepare a Downtown Revitalization Plan. The Valley County Commissioners approved advertising for bids and accepted a few bids in the last commissioner meeting open to the public on Wednesday, March 25. The dispatching staff just went through a week of intensive training and is ready to begin using the new system on Tuesday, July 29.
