In the Nov. 8, 2022 Mid-Term Election, a total of 3,278 registered voters made their voices heard, of the total 4,928 registered voters in the county, making this election a 67 percent voter turnout. When looking at the Valley County precinct breakdown, of the 1,062 total voters in Precinct 31, 689 people cast their ballots for a 65 percent turnout, Precinct 33 had a 68 percent turnout, 1,357 votes cast compared to the total registered voters of 2,000, and Precinct 34 has 1,232 votes cost of the total 1,866 voters with a 66 percent turnout....

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed by President Biden in March 2021. It provided $1.9 trillion in COVID-19 relief funding. Valley County received allocations from several funding sources within ARPA. The first allocation was $1,436,586, provided to Valley County in two halves, in July 2021 and July 2022. Yet in the months since, they still have not acted on a $3,000 engineering study or a new rate structure. The topic turned out to be "more complicated." We, the former members of the Valley County Refuse Board, take exception to how we have been portrayed by the County Commissioners, and most recently by Commissioner Fahlgren in his campaigning. When we were removed from the board, the commissioners used a 1985/86 statute that required board structure to be outlined in a resolution.
