    Hinsdale Gets New Ambulance On July 31 the Hinsdale Volunteer Ambulance Service (HVAS) hosted an appreciation breakfast to show their gratitude to those who contributed to the new 2020 ambulance arriving the last week in June. The new ambulance replaces the 1996 model formerly in use. The 2020 ambulance is a Ford F-350 Super duty 4x4, Crestline that has many safety features the older ambulance didn't have.     Eugene August Thievin Jr., age 81, affectionately known his entire life as "Bud," passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at his home in Scobey, Mont., after a long battle with cancer.     Various local projects have received assistance recently via grants from the Valley County Community Foundation. A total of $16,067 has been awarded in all.     July • While the flood of 2011 is still a topic of conversation, necessary repair work at Fort Peck Dam is ongoing. Even though several repair projects have been completed, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers continues work on the Fort Peck spillway. Consequently the 2011 discharge caused a lot of erosion. The spillway ran for over four months.
