1 Years Ago Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014 Ties to Hollywood brought an actor and a director to the Glasgow area last week. Sightings of the famous actor were reported at several businesses, the airport and at a local hotel. The trip to Glasgow was short planned but got a lot of creative juices flowing for the actor Jon Voight and writer/director John Harrison. For Marj Markle, basketball started at a young age among her competitive siblings. She remembered playing ball in the driveway of their home on the Glasgow Air Force Base almost every night. Glasgow’s high school and middle school music teacher, Dr. Brad Persinger, has been honored as the VFW Montana Teacher of the Year. The newest member of the Glasgow School Board, Mona Amundson, was sworn in at the May 15 meeting. Board Chairman Alison Molvig and Vice Chair Patt Etchart were re-elected to their offices and Kelly Doornek was re-appointed clerk of the board.
