1 Years Ago Wednesday, July 16, 2014 Glasgow's Candy Cane Park is getting a whole new look that will be sweet when it's completed. The park that had gravel and not much for shade will be sporting grass and trees by late summer. The city has set aside and budgeted for the park over the last two years, and last week the project got started. The Glasgow School board had a work session on May 28 to review four applicants to fill the Irle School principal position. The position had been held by Ed Sugg since the fall of 2021 however earlier in the school year, he requested a transfer to a teaching position at the Glasgow Middle School starting with the 2024-2025 school year. WHY NOW? In 2013, voters were asked to approve a facilities bond in the amount of $2,000,000. That bond called for the same Scottie track and field improvements that are being requested in this bond (as well as paving the High School parking lot, enclosing the commons area at GHS and installation of a turf softball field).
