1 Years Ago Wednesday, January 23, 2013 City employees will receive a raise this year, after the Glasgow City Council approved a collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local No. 2. The $.25 per hour increase was also extended to non-bargaining city employees. Police did not request a raise this year. Patricia (Taylor) Risa, 97, of Glasgow, Mont., formerly of Opheim, Mont., passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, at Valley View Home in Glasgow. Pat was born in Lurgen, Ireland, Jan. 23, 1925, to Bill and Janet (Cluff) Taylor. The family was lured from Ireland in 1929 to make a new life in Canada along with 40 other families from England, Ireland and Wales to establish a CPR Colony South of Rockglen, Saskatchewan, Canada. Donna Mae Tihista, 89, the daughter of Ingvald and Magda (Hartvikson) Leraas, was born May 2, 1933, in Knox, N.D. At the age of one and half she traveled with her parents to their new home 26 miles north of Nashua, Mont. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1951 and immediately began working in Glasgow, Mont. She soon gained employment as a secretary at Bjorklund Insurance Agency where she worked for the next three years until her marriage to Jed Tihista on Oct. 10, 1954. Together they... Full story
