    For the Courier|May 22, 2019

Catfish enthusiasts packed into CowBoys Bar & Casino in Huntley for the annual kick-off tourney on the Montana Cats tour on May 10. Through the duration of the calcutta/social, the crowd experienced overcast and rainy conditions. This threatened to play out a familiar scene on most historical Yellowstone Challenge tourney weekends. Competition day, however, was an entirely different story. Seventy-degree temperatures, light winds and moderate river flows were a welcome change over the course of...

The 8th Annual Missouri River Catfish Clash took place in Williston, N.D., Aug. 18, as 40 boats hit the water on a beautiful sunny day. • Flaten-Plouffe Make a "Splash" at the "Clash"

    Blake Gauer, For the Courier|Aug 30, 2017

We couldn’t have asked for better conditions for the 2017 Catfish Clash, held in Williston, N.D., on Aug. 19, as 53 boats set out to conquer the Mighty Missouri. The Williston section always provides big fish and plenty of them. The days leading up to this year’s seventh-annual “Clash” were consistent and, in turn, it provided a bit of river stability that all anglers were able to enjoy. Weather on the day of the event was about as ideal as one could hope for. Air temperatures stuck in the mid 80s, storms stayed by the wayside, river flows (alt... Full story

Most of the teams consisted of area and Montana residents, with some coming to fish from as far away as Indiana. The teams converged on the Milk River for some fishin' in the dark on Saturday, June 5. After the midnight weigh-ins were all said and done, Glasgow natives Tyler and Ryan George claimed... Full story

Fishermen came from near and far to try and climb to the top of the Cat Classic mountain and take home the famed "traveling trophy."
