Albert George Franzen, 88, of Glasgow Mont., passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019. Albert was born Sept. 7, 1930, to John and Alma (Willer) Franzen at Anna Chester's Boarding House in Hinsdale, Mont. He attended school in Hinsdale for six years and then the family moved to Glasgow where he went to school until he went to work for his sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Clarence Fuhrman, at their family farm near Opheim. The Paint Run/Walk is a 2.5 mile, untimed event highlighted by participants being sprayed with powdered paint at various points along the course. This is a fundraiser for the Warriors on the Water Project, jointly sponsored by the Glasgow High School Student Council and the Glasgow Recreation Department. James David Girtman, 71, of Carrabelle, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, and is now at peace from the holds of dementia. He was born Jan. 18, 1948, in Miami, Fla. Taking a break from providing palliative care, the Hinsdale Volunteer Ambulance Service was at Milk River Days to provide some palate care. Loading up a table or two at the park on July 4th with approximately 30 pies and baked goods, including a multigrain bread, the group hosted their annual pie auction to raise much-needed funds for the Hinsdale emergency medical service. The stands were packed for the 40th Annual Hinsdale, Montana Rodeo the evening of July 3. As of June 13, there is officially a new route to drive into Nashua and into Fort Peck. After many months, meetings and delays, the Milk River North Project, also known as the Nashua railroad overpass, is now open to traffic, just in time for the summer travel season. Joan Ruth (Wetterling) Helland, 82, passed away Friday morning, June 7, 2019, at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, Mont., surrounded by friends and family members. Joan was born in Kensington, Minn., Feb. 5, 1937, to Waldo J. and Eleanor (Larson) Wetterling. She was the oldest of four children. The 20th-Annual Milk River Catfish Classic was historic in more ways than one.
