A popular Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Region 6 program that allows kids and their friends or families to check out free fishing rods and tackle is in full swing again this year. The summer swim season will look different for the Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team this year. With the news that the Glasgow Swimming Pool will not reopen and calls for bids are currently out to build a new pool the Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team had to be creative with how they will compete this year. The Children’s Museum of Northeast Montana and the Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture were recipients of the fiscal year 2023 Eastern Montana Initiative Tourism Grant Award. The awards are effective Jan. 25, 2023, and both organizations were notified last week via a letter signed by Montana Governor Greg Gianforte. Both the boys and girls Scottie cross country teams placed second at their home meet Sept. 17 at Kiwanis Park in Fort Peck on a beautiful and mild day making for perfect running conditions. The Glasgow boys earned 45 points, a single point behind Custer County. Havre took third with 65 points; Poplar fourth with 83; Fort Benton fifth at 120 and Scobey earned 129 points for sixth place. I must admit that the presence of our grandsons (and now our middle daughter) has kept my attention away from my yard and garden.
