Saturday was the perfect day for the "Middle of Nowhere Polar Plunge" at the city of Glasgow Civic Center. The city fire department filled up an above ground pool the night before, which was further cooled with loads of ice donated by Agland Co-Op. 1 Years Ago Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2011 • The Glasgow Scottie Band showed off in the Homecoming Parade this year, boasting a completely new set of uniforms. Over decades of use, the band’s distinctive kilts had grown shabby and in short supply. • Dave Strohmaier and his family arrived in Glasgow on Amtrak last Thursday to make two points; to make sure passenger rail service remains strong in Montana and to “get Congress back on track.” • They didn’t post a perfect score, but the Glasgow girls’ cross country team did run its best meet of the sea... Hinsdale Gets New Ambulance On July 31 the Hinsdale Volunteer Ambulance Service (HVAS) hosted an appreciation breakfast to show their gratitude to those who contributed to the new 2020 ambulance arriving the last week in June. I am 32-years-old and a mother of one 8-year-old girl who enjoys swim team and swimming for fun. I am looking to raise money to help pay for the Valley County Community Pool. Any amount will help build a new pool. We still need an estimated $1.78 million. We do have a grant in place, but if we do not have the pool completed by 2023, we will lose the grant. Patrick J. Lamphier, 76, passed away after a five-year battle with cancer that never destroyed his spirit at his residence on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
