John Walker Mogan, 94, of Hinsdale, Mont. passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, March 6, 2021. John Walker was born to Alexander and Yukona (Baylor) Mogan on October 7, 1926 in the Benson house in Hinsdale. Marion Porteen, who later became his mother-in-law, was the midwife. He joined a brother Alex and later a sister Joan. He was raised on a farm in the Genevieve Community north of Hinsdale. The final weekend of the regular season for the high school Glasgow Ice Dawgs came with a good news/bad news split. The good news: both Glasgow goalies notched a win. The bad news? The wins came as each goalie was suited up to fill in the crease for the visiting Havre Ice Hawks. At a special meeting held Monday, Dec. 14, the Glasgow School Board voted to update their policy on extracurricular activity participation by distance learners. The new 1908 policy allows for coaches and advisors to allow students who are currently enrolled in distance learning to participate in extracurricular activities that can be done virtually. The Glasgow School Board met for their regular meeting on Oct. 13, and on the agenda was the discussion to add girls wrestling to the Glasgow High School activities. Athletic Director Brenner Flaten outlined the proposal, analysis and a survey taken by middle school and high school girls on their interest in participating in the sport if offered. Dale Arthur Dascher, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2020. He was born on New Year's Day in 1923 in Glasgow, to Dan and Emma (Edwards) Dascher. He joined his sister, Esther and later, another sister, Lucine, joined them. They grew up on the homestead 15 miles southwest of Opheim, Mont.
