During the Glasgow City Council meeting on Aug. 1, the Council gave final approval for an annual two percent increase in water and sewer rates for city customers through September 2027. The initial increase will see the base rate of residential water go up to $28.71 and the sewer base rate will increase to $45.75. Last week Katie Knierim and Kevin Miller donated $25,000 to the Valley County Community Pool Campaign making the total raised $2,518,028, just over the $2.5 million mark, of the $3,304,000 goal needed to build a new pool in Glasgow. The Valley County Community Foundation (VCCF) has made the annual grant awards to eight (8) Valley County organizations. The Glasgow City Council met on April 25 for a regular meeting and discussed water and sewer rates for the next five years. The council agreed to a five-year rate schedule which will increase the base rate for water and sewer two percent each year. The current base rate for a residential water line is $28.15 per month.
