He was born June 8, 1948, in Williston, N.D., to John W. and Mabel (Trehaus) Lindvig. He was the oldest of six children. He was raised on the Lindvig Family Farm south of Williston and attended schools in the Williston area. After high school, he moved to Seattle, Wash., and worked at Boeing.     For the past 19 years, the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital Foundation has held the Foundation’s Open Golf Tournament as its major annual fundraising event. The date for this year’s tournament has been set for Sunday, June 10, at Sunnyside Golf and Country Club in Glasgow. Entrants must be over the age of 18. The tournament will be a straight scramble.   • Valley View Hospital District Passes Along With Funding Levy

    In what became a year-long saga for Valley View Home, filled with uncertainty, anxiety and pressure for staff, residents, families and supporters, the vote to approve a hospital district and funding levy for Valley View Nursing Home has passed. With a vote totaling 2,701 respondents, 1,674 voted in favor of the district and 1,027 against. The funding levy received less support with 1,510 voting for and 1,138 voting against.   • Hospital Remodel Hits New Phase

    Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital is beginning a new phase in their renovation process. As of press time, the hospital has sealed off the "patient discharge" entrance and exit in order to begin renovating the area that used to be physical therapy.     The last week for law enforcement was uneventful according to accounts coming from the Valley County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Vernon Buerkle reported that a vehicle roll-over occurred outside Hinsdale on Sunday afternoon at around 2:31 pm. According to Sheriff Buerkle an off-duty Highway Patrol trooper and retired Valley County sheriff were traveling on U.S. Highway 2 east of Hinsdale when they saw the vehicle in the ditch.
