Nelson, aka Funk Unk, lost his long battle against lung cancer, passing peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont. He was 70 years old. During their Discussion and Decision meeting on Aug. 3, the Valley County Commissioners in attendance, Commissioner Paul Tweten and Commissioner John Fahlgren, voted to provide Valley View Home another $500,000 appropriation to help keep the nursing home sustainable. During the late-night hours of March 13, two adult men were detained by deputies from the Valley County Sheriff’s Office for suspected drug activity. An investigation ensued and eventually both men were transported to the Valley County Detention Center. There, one of the men began exhibiting symptoms of a drug overdose.
