    A Veterans Day ceremony will take place at the Glasgow Civic Center on Tuesday, Nov. 11, starting at 10:30 a.m. This year Vietnam veterans will be honored, as it is the 50th year since the end of the Vietnam War. WWII veterans recently honored with the Legion of Honor Award from France also will be mentioned, this coming 70 years after their involvement in D-Day. This year's speaker will be VFW State Cmdr.     Tim Phillips, head coach of the GHS track team and Glasgow's junior high cross country team, was a good role model Saturday for his student-athletes. He won the 23rd annual Turkey Trot, a 1.5-mile fun run that supports the Glasgow Rec Department and Valley County Food Bank, in a time of 8:39. That was 6 seconds ahead of runner-up Emilee Morehouse.     A free community tennis clinic with a top instructor will be offered by the Glasgow Recreation Department at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the Glasgow Civic Center. The clinic will be instructed by Jeremiah Walsh, director of tennis at Sun Oaks Tennis and Fitness in Redding, Calif., since 2009.     The 23rd annual Turkey Trot will be begin 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Glasgow Civic Center. The race starts and ends at The Civic Center.     While speeding is a general problem on the road, the signs set up to collect data through a grant have been making some impacts on speeders coming through Glasgow. Glasgow Police Chief Bruce Barstad explained that the data collected has helped officers target certain times of the day, and understand how many vehicles are moving through Glasgow in a day. On average, around 10,400 vehicles are traveling along Highway 2. Data collected from June 17-24 shows that speeds as high as 75 mph, and as low as 15 mph were recorded. With the majority of...
