Over 40 veterans and nearly 120 family, friends and citizens gathered at the Glasgow Civic Center on Memorial Day morning to honor those U.S. service members who gave their lives for this nation. The 21st-Annual Jeff Jurgens Memorial Tournament brought a lot of ballers to town March 16 and 17. To assist Brooke MacDonald with travel and medical expenses there will be a free-will spaghetti dinner and silent auction on Sunday, March 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nashua Civic Center. MacDonald has been diagnosed with a very rare disease that is affecting her bones. The treatment for this is chemotherapy, which has been taking place in Billings and Glasgow. Do you remember when the Class C Boys’ basketball tournaments were held in the Glasgow Civic Center? I think that schools were even let out for the event. Coming from a Class C school, it was a real treat to have friends that I could stay with and take in the tourney. In what is becoming a much-anticipated annual tradition, the Johnny Holm Band once again rocked Glasgow. The band, well-known to many residents of the area, performed at the Glasgow Civic Center this past Friday, Jan. 4.
