    About $2,000 was raised for the Warriors on the Water program during last Saturday's 7th Annual Paint Run/Walk in downtown Glasgow. About 40 people participate in the extremely colorful event, co-sponsored by Glasgow High School Student Council and the Glasgow Recreation Department. The race began in front of the Civic Center, with participants -- wearing white t-shirts -- completing a loop of downtown, getting tagged with colored powder paint throughout the course....

This event is jointly sponsored by Glasgow High School Student Council and the Glasgow Recreation Department, and is a fundraiser for the Warriors on the Water Project.     Sixty-four teams and untold numbers of basketball coaches and fans descended on Glasgow this past weekend for the 2021 Jeff Jurgens Memorial Tournament.     The Lucky Clover 4H club met on Dec. 13, 2020 at the Nashua civic center. We first decorated the outside of the senior center for Christmas with a Nativity set and other décor. We did our regular business items first then went over the wreath sales. We then had two great demonstrations done by Kaitlyn Miller and Trace Laumeyer. Trace did a demonstration on European head mounts and skull cap mounts. Kaitlyn did a demonstration on sewing and all the items that you would need to be able to sew something.     At their regularly-scheduled meeting on Aug. 19, the Valley County Commissioners voted unanimously to move to a mail ballot election, with the option of in-person voting, for the 2020 general election. Ballots will be mailed out for the Tuesday, Nov. 3, election on Oct. 9. Voters may vote in person at the county election office (in the Valley County Courthouse) 30 days prior to the election.     The Glasgow City Council is in the process of passing a new city ordinance to increase penalties associated with weedy lots. Ordinance No. 968 will amend the city’s already existing weed ordinance to increase fees for non-compliance in an effort to increase compliance with the lot standards.     The Glasgow Recreation Department is moving forward with summer programs. Registration will begin on Monday, June 1, at 7 a.m. in the Civic Center gymnasium.
