In December 2023, at Dickinson State University's Heritage Foundation Yuletyme event, Alex Fransen ('22 and Glasgow Scottie alum), a former Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program scholar and Blue Hawk football player, made a winning bid on Kaitlyn McColly's Team USA jersey. The Glasgow School Board met in regular session on Dec. 11, where the big topic of conversation was the potential for a bond election to pay for infrastructure improvements at all three schools within the school district. The Board decided to move forward with passing a resolution to provide voters the opportunity to pass a bond in the amount of $2.9 million to pay for the much-needed improvements in the school district. For their eighth year, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Airport Road in Glasgow once again provided holiday cheer during their annual Nativity Open House on Dec. 15. Dear Editor, My name is Joyce Morehouse and I'm the Coordinator for Valley County Council on Aging. We serve congregate meals at the Senior Center 3 days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We also deliver Home Meals to 15 people 5 days a week. We do commodities bimonthly. This is all for people who are 60 or older. Valley County Transit will offer limited services on Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day. On Tuesday, the 24th, buses will run from 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Saint Marie runs at 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. only. The Scottie boys basketball team won two games at the Red Lodge Tournament this past weekend. Glasgow defeated the Big Timber Sheepherders 72-40 Dec. 13 and beat the Joliet J-Hawks by a 56-46 margin. The Scotties came out hot against the Sheepherders and took a 25-6 lead in the first quarter. Both teams put up 15 in the second for a 40-21 Glasgow lead at the half. The Scotties fell 54-43 Dec. 13 to the Big Timber Sheepherders but recovered with a 59-13 drubbing of the Joliet J-Hawks.
