    As the 2024 election year came to a close, so does the court case initiated by six Fort Peck Tribal members seeking satellite voting locations, arguing against Valley and Roosevelt Counties that Indigenous voters have poor access to the polls for Election Day, Nov. 5. As of Nov. 12, the case was dismissed upon the voters’ own motion. Throughout the pendency of the case, two of the six plaintiffs asked to withdraw from the case, as did the original attorney for the plaintiffs.   • Glasgow School Board Appoints Ryan Fast To Trustee Position

    The Glasgow School Board met in regular session on Nov. 13 and voted to appoint Ryan Fast to the open trustee position on the Glasgow School Board. He replaces Board Chair Angie Page who resigned at the end of October. Fast is not new as a school board trustee as he previously served six years on the Glasgow School Board before retiring in May 2024.   • Glasgow City Council Directs Downtown Business Owner To Repair Sidewalk Surrounding Property

    At the regular Glasgow City Council meeting on Nov. 4, the Glasgow City Council voted to direct the Rundle Suites to repair the sidewalk surrounding their property according to City of Glasgow Code. The sidewalk surrounding the Rundle Suites is uneven and has several cracks which the city has determined to be a danger to the public walking on those portions of the sidewalk.   • Medical Exhibit At Children's Museum Completed

    Thanks to the generosity of Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital (FMDH), the new and improved medical exhibit at the Children's Museum of Northeast Montana is complete with the addition of a large custom-made ambulance which was installed on Nov. 15. The medical exhibit was revamped and opened to the public in stages starting earlier this year, with several stations including a small exam table, desk, dress up gear and lots of fun play medical tools.     The 32nd Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 28, at Glasgow Senior Citizens Center, located at 328 4th Street South. Last year 150 people enjoyed the dinner with hopes of exceeding that number, this coming year. Over the past 30 years approximately 5,400 people have enjoyed the event. The tree used to sit in the middle of the street on 2nd Ave. S and 4th St. S. A manhole was uncovered and a pot the city created to place the tree in helped hold the tree in place. Due to an accident several years ago, the city looked at the problems created by the tree's position and the liability issues.
