    The cross country teams from Frazer, Nashua and Hinsdale competed at the MHSA State Cross Country Meet Oct. 26 in the final event of the 2024 season. Frazer The Frazer boys scored 225 points for 20th place while the girls scored 209 for 12th place. Gabe Beston led the boys team with a 15th place showing out of 128 runners. He finished the course in Missoula with an 18:22.2 time. Bryce Fourstar ran a 22:06.4 to set a new personal record and take 94th place. Cassius Smoker took 116th place with a 23:39.4 time.   • Scottie XC Teams Close Season At State Meet

    The Scottie girls cross country team scored 243 points at the MHSA State Cross Country Meet Oct. 26 to take sixth place. The Glasgow boys put up 355 points in Missoula for 13th place. "I was very happy with how our kids ran at state. We didn't quite have the fire power to hit all our team goals, but they did run very well!" Head Coach Tim Phillips told the Courier.     The Nashua Porcupines played two matches last week to close out the regular season. The Porcupines hosted the Glasgow Scottie C squad Oct. 22. Nashua took the match to four sets but lost 9-25, 18-25, 25-21, 23-25. Coach Sydney Hersom said, "We were unfortunately missing our starting middle due to being sick, so we had to switch our whole rotation... and people were playing different spots, it was a mess!"     The Scotties cruised to another conference win after starting the game scoring on the opening kick off. Khye Gamas returned the opening kick 85 yards to put the Scotties on the scoreboard 16 seconds into action. Jose Ramon Osuna Lopez added the kick for a 7-0 lead over the Wolves.     The Scottie volleyball team split their matches in the final week of the regular season. Glasgow fell to Fairview at home Oct. 24 but recovered with a road win in Wolf Point Oct. 26. Glasgow battled the Warriors at home. The visitors won the first two sets before the Scotties took them to extra points for the win in the third game. Fairview won the fourth set to win the match. Glasgow fell 25-16, 25-23, 27-25, 25-18. The Scotties had eight aces, 40 kills, 37 assists, 90 digs and seven blocks....

    The Frazer volleyball team closed out their season with a win over the Brockton Warriors Oct. 22. The Bearcubs took the match in five sets 25-27, 25-20, 25-9, 19-25, 15-11.     The Lions volleyball team split their last two matches of the regular season. Lustre hosted the Culbertson Cowgirls Oct. 21. The Lions fell in three sets 23-25, 21-25, 17-25. Lustre had 14 assists, 10 aces, 36 digs, five blocks and 12 kills. Abby Olfert led in assists with 10 and in aces with three. Kencia Brown led in digs with 36 and kills with four.     For the week of Oct. 21 through 27, there were three reports of loose dogs, two reports of loose livestock, two reports of missing dogs, two reports of deer being hit by a vehicle, and 10 motor vehicle stops. Monday, Oct. 21 1808 – A hazard was reported. A deputy cleared most of the debris from the roadway and placed it in his truck. There was no need to call DOT. Tuesday, Oct. 22 0743 – MDOT reported a deer needs to be put down. He tried to get a hold of F&G, but they don’t have anyone on yet. A deputy arrived on scene and put the deer down....
