    The Scottie girls cross country team placed second at the Sidney Invitational Oct. 12 and the boys finished in fourth place. “Sidney went really well for us last Saturday - I was proud of all our kids! I saw a lot of them move up and compete in the middle of the race, which is what we’ve been looking for this season.     The Scottie volleyball team split their matches last week with a win over Harlem and a loss to Malta. Glasgow hosted the Harlem Wildcats Oct. 10 for the annual Pink Night for breast cancer awareness. The Scotties swept the visiting Wildcats, 25-17, 25-10, 25-16. The Scotties had eight aces, led by Joely Chappell with four. Glasgow notched 32 team kills with Chappell and Mayzie Yoakam leading the way with 11 each.     The Scottie football team rolled over the Conrad Cowboys 43-6 at home Oct. 11. Glasgow let the visitors score once in the first quarter but shut them out the remainder of the game for the conference win.     Nashua Nashua’s Charlie Kaasa competed at the Sidney Invitational Oct. 12. He ran a 19:02.71 for 18th place out of 70 varsity competitors. Kaasa is scheduled to attend the Harlem Wildcat Invite Friday, Oct. 18, in his final regular season meet of 2024. Hinsdale Raider runner Linden Holt attended the Malta Invitational Oct. 12.
