    Native American voters on the Fort Peck Reservation continue their fight for voting rights with a lawsuit asking for two satellite voting offices to be established closer to the reservation, specifically at locations in Frazer and Poplar, Mont. After a hearing on Oct. 7, a continuance was set for Friday, Oct. 18.     Throughout the past few months, there has been a lot of construction activity at Hoyt Park, especially on the other side of the already ongoing project of the new swimming pool. Crews from Evergreen Skateparks broke ground on the city's new skatepark on Aug. 28, and finalized the project on Oct. 2.   • Glasgow City Council Approves Bid For Pool Bathhouse

    During the regular council meeting on Oct. 7, the Glasgow City Council approved the final piece of the new swimming pool project in Glasgow by voting to accept the bid from Corland Construction to build a bathhouse at a cost of $954,080. Corland Construction is currently constructing the swimming pool and now with them responsible for the pool bathhouse, both projects are expected to be completed by the end of May 2025.   • Fire Crews Respond To Valley County Landfill Fire

    Glasgow/Long Run Fire Department was paged the night of Oct. 7, at 11:03 p.m., to a fire at the landfill in Glasgow. Upon arrival, heavy fire was observed back in the pit. Response included five fire trucks and eight fire department personnel while Saint Marie Fire Department assisted with bringing a water tender.
