    The Elks National Foundation is now accepting applications for the Legacy Awards $4,000 scholarships, which are available to children and grandchildren of Elks members. Great-grandchildren are not eligible. For the 2025 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the Order on or before April 1, 2022, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2022, is eligible to apply.     The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) reports that breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among Montana women, accounting for 33 percent of new cancers each year.     Glasgow hosted Glendive Oct. 1 and fell in four sets to the Class A Red Devils. The Scotties traveled to Fairview Oct. 5 where they defeated the Warriors in four games. Glendive took the first set 25-22 and won the second 25-19. Glasgow battled back to win the third set 25-14 and fought hard in the fourth set but fell 25-23. This fall, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will release nearly 18,000 birds on wildlife management areas, fishing access sites and some school trust lands around the state.
