    At 7:20 p.m., on Oct. 6, Valley County Dispatch received a 911 call stating multiple gun shots were being reported in the town of St. Marie. Officers responded from Valley County Sheriff’s Office and Glasgow Police Department. Both officers made contact with a male suspect. The suspect was given multiple commands and did not comply.     Glasgow Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) recently completed a project to beautify our community while showcasing local photographers. Three traffic utility cabinets were wrapped with photos promoting our Big Sky country and each has a rainbow suggesting Glasgow is the pot of gold.     David James Renner, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday evening Sept. 30, 2024, at home with his loving wife by his side. David was born on April 28, 1946, to Irene Reinbold and Lloyd Renner in Glasgow, Mont. He was the oldest of three siblings.     The National Weather Service in Glasgow has reported that September 2024 is the warmest September on record with archives dating back to 1893. September saw an average temperature of 67.8 degrees breaking the previous record by 1.9 degrees in 2022 when the average was 65.9 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 99 degrees on the 29th, which set a daily high temperature record by 10 degrees and is the warmest so late in the season by nine days.     The Remington Fire that blasted up from northern Wyoming into southeastern Montana in late August burned 196,000 acres of grass, trees, hay, barns and most devastatingly, livestock. With erratic high winds and hot temperatures, ranchers had scant time to evacuate their animals.
