In the latest back and forth to complete the 2020 Census amidst a pandemic, on Sept. 24, the U.S. District Court extended the deadline for the completion of the Census. The preliminary injunction, issued by U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh in the Northern District of California, requires the Census Bureau to keep trying to count the country’s residents through Oct. 31. Valley County Clerk & Recorder/Superintendent of Schools Taryn Aberg submitted her resignation letter to the county commissioners on Sept. 21. Aberg was elected to her position in 2018 and the four-year term will expire Dec. 31, 2022. Brenna Kay (Billingsley) Sundby, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at her home on the Billingsley Ranch, from complications of her three-year battle with ovarian cancer. Gladys May (Pearson) Hansen died at Valley View Home in Glasgow, Mont., on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020 - just one day short of her 99th birthday. Saengsuree "Dim" Weber, 68, of Forsyth, Mont., passed away in Billings, Mont., on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020. She was born Feb. 28, 1952, in Ban Dan, Thailand. She met Gary Weber in 1972 when he was stationed in Thailand. They were married Sept. 28, 1973, and moved to the U.S. in 1974. Sunnyside Golf and Country Club’s Men’s League 2020 season closed out last week, on Sept. 21, with the final round of golf being played to determine this year’s championship team and proud recipient of the Prestigious Squires Cup. The Glasgow Cross Country teams traveled to Culbertson on Sept. 26 for the Culbertson Invitational. Both the girls and boys teams came home with second place finishes.
